Day trip to DC

We haven't been to DC since we moved into our house 6 years ago, so we thought it was high time we took the two little girls to see it.  We used to go regularly when we lived in Virginia.  It was the most gorgeous day for walking and we definitely walked our butts off. We went to a couple of the Smithsonians (the American History and the Natural History).  Emma and Maggie LOVED the dinosaurs and the hall of mammals.  We walked through the Hirshorn Sculpture Garden.  And we picnicked on the mall between the Washinton Monument and the Capital.  We will be going back in the next few weeks to take advantage of the great fall weather and go to the National Zoo.

Update on Kindergarten

"It wasn't that fun" so I was told. Only a third of her class was there today so hopefully on Thursday when the entire class is there it will be "fun". Her friend Rylie will also be there on Thursday so that will definitely make it much better. :)

First day of Kindergarten

Emma was sooo excited for school this morning. She got up when Katherine did at 6 o'clock. Emma's bus doesn't pick her up until 8:20. So we watched some TV and she asked me every five minutes if it was time to go. I can't wait to hear about her first day. It should be good!
