We haven't been to DC since we moved into our house 6 years ago, so we thought it was high time we took the two little girls to see it. We used to go regularly when we lived in Virginia. It was the most gorgeous day for walking and we definitely walked our butts off. We went to a couple of the Smithsonians (the American History and the Natural History). Emma and Maggie LOVED the dinosaurs and the hall of mammals. We walked through the Hirshorn Sculpture Garden. And we picnicked on the mall between the Washinton Monument and the Capital. We will be going back in the next few weeks to take advantage of the great fall weather and go to the National Zoo.

I can't believe its been that long since you guys have gone which means its been longer since we've gone. I would love to do that next time we come for a visit.
Sounds like you had a nice day. Do they still have the first lady's dresses displayed?
They do but we didn't go to that. They just finished re-doing the museum so it is different, much more interactive for the kids. It's good for that but then it sort of sucked for other stuff. The Natural History was much better especially for the kids, they enjoyed the dinosaurs and the insect museum a lot.
